Hairstyles
There are so many different hair styles out there that I am not going to try and recommend specific ones here. Just find a style and color that is flattering to your face, and consistent with your type. There are only a few things to keep in mind when choosing. Blondes are always considered softer, and therefore blonde is a good color to use if you are going for a very feminine appeal. Brown is good too. Black should be reserved for more dominant, top of the clock types, as, with very few exceptions it has a "hard" look to it. Red is an intersting color--it carries the same sort of sexual connotations that blonde does, but is harder to carry off for most people. And, like blondes, people either seem to love or hate red hair. But, for those who love it, you can do no wrong!
Length is another issue. Traditionally, longer hair gives a more feminine look than short hair. Using wigs and falls, you can change the color, style and length of your hair quickly and easily. These items can be found at any wig shop or beauty supply.
For more on hairstyles, take a peek at the three links below. The first is a retro hairstyling site with all sorts of neat tips and tricks you might have fun trying, as well as links to more sites for that sort of thing. The Retro Magazine link will take you to an online magazine that has all kinds of great stuff, but if you go into their archive and search for '1940's hairstyles' you will get a whole list of wonderful pages. And, for more up-to-date but still feminine looks, MODE magazine comes highly recommended!
